Barium is available in two versions:
- Barium Solo – a single-channel bargraph meter with 20 LEDs
- Barium Duo – a dual-channel bargraph meter with 2 x 20 LEDs
The Barium bargraph meters feature:
- a 42 dB range with peak hold
- both dBu (dBVu) and dBFS scales
- 0 dBu corresponds to 0 dB on a classic VU meter.
Thanks to its precise calibration, Barium can be used as a reference meter. In our atelier, Barium Solo is used as a reference when calibrating the VU meters in the Ark console.
As standard, Barium meters are set to -18 dBFS = 0 dBu. This can be changed to -24 dBFS = 0 dBu using the switch on the main PCB.
Barium Solo is a single-channel peak signal meter. Its 20-LED bargraph provides a 42 dB range with both dBu and dBFS scales.
Barium Solo can be inserted anywhere in the signal path. To enable this, the input is hard-wired to the output, so the signal path remains continuous without passing through additional active circuitry.
