About Interphase Audio

Interphase Audio designs and hand-builds unique professional audio gear. The company grew from Ocean Audio, founded in late 2012 by Malcolm Toft and Bruno Wynants to offer classic analogue products inspired by the heritage of Trident and MTA.

Following Malcolm Toft’s retirement in 2015, his Ocean Audio designs were discontinued. Since then, Bruno has worked with new designers, manufacturers, retailers, musicians, engineers, producers and other industry professionals to develop classic analogue products updated for 21st-century workflows.

To reflect this fresh start and avoid confusion with earlier Toft-designed products, Ocean Audio became Interphase Audio. With contributions from designers across Europe and led by Allan Bradford, Interphase Audio brings together a broad mix of design tradition, experience and innovation.

For me, the Iridium steals the show, with the beautiful, effortless elegance to its sound. If you’re in the market for a 500-series EQ, then I’d heartily recommend checking out these modules.

Matt Houghton, Sound on Sound magazine, January 2023

I received the Iridiums and have been trying them out for almost two weeks. They sound amazing. Really, really great sound. I’m so impressed with how easily they can energize a sound without sounding like anything drastic was done to it. Of course the top and bottom end boosts sound great, but one thing that surprised me is that midrange cuts seem to sound particularly good with this EQ.

I don’t know what it is–maybe I’m imagining it! But I feel like I can tame whatever is honking in the mids and everything still sounds nice, and not like I just killed the presence of the sound.

Thank you for a really great EQ! I will be keeping an eye on your future designs.

500 Series Modules

There are many 500 Series modules on the market, but a large number are based on copies or clones of older designs. Interphase Audio takes a different approach, creating only unique gear. With respect for decades of recording technology, their products are designed for the way audio professionals work today, not simply the way equipment was used in the past.
